This estate dates to the 17th century and is located near the medieval town of Pezenas, a favorite of
Moli*re. Christophe Blanc works this 25-hectare estate organically and makes only red wines. He uses no
fining or filtration for his wines, and religiously green harvests, drops fruit, and puts no fruit in his tanks
for fermentation that is not perfectly ripe, clean or that he wouldn*t eat for breakfast himself.
100% Merlot.
Only about 10 acres of Merlot is produced here. Planted on the gravelly hillsides
behind the village of Pezenas, this warm microclimate is capable of ripening Merlot to
perfection. Bottled without filtration, the Les Enclos is quite deep and well colored.
